In May 1971 the 2.5 Triumph engined
Marcos was introduced. Using the 2.5 carburettor engine as fitted
in the Triumph 2.5 Saloon car, and the same Triumph gearbox as in the
Mantis but without an overdrive.
This engine was used as an alternative to the
Volvo power unit purely for financial reasons.
The car was externally
identical to the 3 Litre Volvo, and only 12 of these cars were produced
making it a fairly rare model.
