Anti Bump Steer Conversion Kit
Most cars built
from chassis number 8001 onwards suffered in one way or another with various
steering and suspension problems. The most common of these being chronic bump
steer.
This in Laymen’s
terms is a tendency to veer to the left or right on undulating road surfaces
making the car unpleasant, if not dangerous to drive. Most Marcos owners will
have experienced this.
In conjunction
with Harvey Bailey Engineering, we have developed an easy to fit conversion to
eliminate the bump steer, making the car safer and far more pleasant to drive.
This
transformation is obtained by repositioning certain suspension pick up points
and supplying modified steering components which can be easily fitted by any
competent owner. There are brackets supplied which need to be welded to the
chassis, this must be done by a competent professional welder.
Alternatively we
can carry out the modifications for you.
The conversion
comprises of all the brackets, new components, nuts, bolts, washers, full
instructions and drawings where necessary.
Prior to
dispatch of the conversion, we will need both suspension uprights and steering arms to
enable us to carry out certain modifications. These will be returned with the
other components. (Normally carried out within 48hrs)
For Live Axle cars, we will also supply modified radius rods, brackets, nuts, bolts etc…. This is to eliminate rear end steer inherent in these cars which in conjunction with the front end bump steer, can make certain cars very unpredictable and extremely unpleasant to drive.
